We foster policy and the legislative foundations for all types of cooperatives from all sectors to do business throughout the state of Georgia with more ease and accommodation of the model in its natural form.

Legal Hurdles

Georgia co-ops are growing, but due to limited state legislation supporting this business model, new cooperatives often incorporate in other states. Current Georgia laws only allow for cooperatives in one sector and need to be expanded to incorporate all sectors and types of cooperatives. Our legal team is refining legislation that will give cooperatives greater ability to create and to do business here. With more ease and seamless policies that support the cooperative business model and structure, Georgia co-ops can thrive.
